Jamaica School administrative System (JSAS) to be used in all schools
The Ministry of Education is endeavouring to have at least 600 schools using the JSAS software by September 2009. A team from the MIS Unit will be visiting schools over the next few weeks to assist with installation and setup, while the Professional Development Unit (PDU) will be conducting intensive training to equip principals and teachers with the requisite skills to use the software.
Those who have the technical competencies may download and install the software using the guidelines below. Additional help can be obtained by contacting the MIS Unit of the Ministry at:

Guidelines for downloading JSAS
Read ALL the following instructions carefully before downloading JSAS.
- Create a folder called "JSAS" on your computer. (The "Desktop" will do)
- Download JSAS using the link below. (Read all the steps first)
- When prompted, choose "Save". Ensure that the file is saved in the JSAS folder you created. (You may opt to save it elsewhere but you will later need to extract the zip files to the JSAS folder)
- Once download is complete, extract all files to the JSAS folder.
- After all files have been extracted open the JSAS folder and double-click "Setup.exe"
- Follow setup instructions
NB. After all files have been unzipped you may refer to the "JSAS Setup Guide" and the "JSAS Users Guide". These are .doc files to be found in a folder called "Support" within the "JSAS" folder.
